Shooting for the stars
Wisla is a proud sponsor of Starchaser Industries, supplying specialist webbing straps used both prior to and post-launch in the restraint, manoeuvre and salvage of rocket boosters.
Starchaser was started in 1992 by local entrepreneur, Steve Bennett. During that period Starchaser has built and launched a number of highly successful rockets, developed and tested some of the largest rocket engines and has conducted manned flight tests of their own space capsules.
In conjunction with Starchaser, Wisla has designed and developed bespoke straps combining all aspects of load restraint of the rocket itself along with safe and secure handling of payload and critical components.
Starchaser share their experiences not only with fellow rocketry enthusiasts but also with children and young adults through the education system. Their outreach programme has provided the impetus for increased interest in rocket design, propulsion, and physics generally at school, college and university establishments.
Starchaser are also offering the more adventurous of us the possibility of winning a rocket ride to the edge of space at a height of over 100,000ft, to observe the curvature of the earth and to experience the effects of weightlessness, details of which can be found at https://starchaser.co.uk/win-a-rocket-ride
